Hannah Bailey, Ph.D.


Adjunct Instructor History

Dr. Bailey has a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Kansas. She has spent her academic career researching histories of colonial dispossession and race, gender and sexuality in the Midwest. Her work looks at how changing relationships to property ownership creates categories of exclusion in the settler colonial state. She has published articles in the journals Left History and Soundings: An Interdisciplinary Journal. She has also written pieces for KCUR and The Lawrence Times. She has taught undergraduate courses for the past six years.
