Jace’Karmon Thomas, Ed.D.

Dr. Thomas' teaching philosophy is to prepare students to be productive and considerate educators through theoretical and authentic learning experiences. She gained teaching experience in middle grades mathematics in Dallas and Kansas City urban settings, where she was also certified to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages. Dr. Thomas teaches Differentiated Instruction and High Leverage Teaching Strategies and works with student teacher candidates. She has previous experience supervising student teacher candidates at the University of Kansas and taught the undergraduate course Mathematical Literacy at Avila University. The emphasis of her higher education was curriculum and instruction, and her doctoral research focused on various error-analysis techniques in mathematics education. Outside of teaching and scholarship, Dr. Thomas' interests include global travel and learning Arabic.
